Itinerary Highlights

Arrive in Rio de Janerio, home of blue skies, white sand beaches, rocky mountains, swaying palm trees and breathtaking rolling green hills. Explore the black and white tiled promenade of Copacabana and Ipanema beach, located mere steps from your hotel.

On your first full day in Rio enjoy a guided city tour starting at the tropical Corcovado Mountain, home to lush trees and exotic fruits. From here, a short walk will take you to the grandiose Christ the Redeemer statue where you can enjoy spectacular views over Rio including the Maracana Stadium, the Sambódromo where the carnival takes place and the historical buildings of the city centre.

In the afternoon, you'll reach the red beach of Praia Vermelha where you can take a cable car up to Urca Mountain and then a further cable car up the famous Sugarloaf Mountain. 

Explore the tropical rainforest on a jeep safari tour through Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. See the contrast between the city skyscrapers and the tropical rainforest in the middle of the city and stop at the Monkeys' Waterfall to appreciate the religious syncretism of Brazil. The forest is home to hundred of species of plants and wildlife including vultures, lizards, toucans and several families of Marmoset, considered the smallest race of monkey in the world.

Fly to Iguazu Falls, and explore this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage-listed site starting the Brazilian side. Follow the walkways which border the canyon of the Iguazu River and observe hundreds of small waterfalls ending up at Devil's Throat, the strongest and mightiest of all the falls. 

Cross the border into Argentina to see the falls from another perspective. From this side, you can stand directly above the falling water and admire the strength of this natural phenomenon.

Accommodation in five-star hotels throughout the tour. Spend three nights at the Hilton Copacabana located mere steps from one of the world's most famous beaches and three nights at Bourbon Cataratas near the Argentinean border at Iguazu Falls.

*Important Internal Flight Information: Your internal flight from Rio de Janerio to Iguazu Falls will be booked directly through the Luxury Escapes flights teams. The flights team will contact you to arrange the flight shortly after you make your booking. Your flight will be with TAM Airways, GOL Airways or Avianca Brazil.

Return airport transfers are included picking you up from the airport in Rio de Janeiro and dropping you off at the airport in Iguazu Falls.

Can I change my check in date post purchase: Once you have purchased your package and received confirmation your dates cannot be changed without contacting the tour company directly. Package is valid for ONE PERSON over the age of 18 (twin share). If you are travelling with another person you must purchase TWO PACKAGES, otherwise an additional single traveller surcharge will apply.

Single Traveller Surcharge: Guests travelling alone must pay a single traveller surcharge of AU$480 more per person and will get their own room, payable directly to the tour company.

Day 1 - Arrive in Rio de Janeiro

Your guide will be waiting for you at the international airport of Galeao in Rio de Janeiro to transfer you to your hotel. Check-in is from 3pm however if your room is ready and available the hotel may offer you a complimentary early check-in upon availability. If you arrive before dark, you may be able to see Rio de Janeiro’s green hills, blue sky, rocky mountains and palm trees on both sides of beautiful bays. By day or night, you can walk along the famous black-and-white tiled promenade of Copacabana, Leblon, Ipanema.

Day 2 - City Tour of Rio

After breakfast, depart for a full day city tour of Rio including Corcovado & Sugarloaf Mountain. Drive to Corcovado station where you will board a minibus to take you to the Corcovado Mountain driving you through the tropical rainforest, passing trees and exotic fruits. A short walk from the final station you will find yourself at the foot of impressive Christ the Redeemer (Cristo Redentor). Enjoy the spectacular views over Rio de Janeiro where you can see the Maracana Stadium, the Sambodrome where the carnival takes place, the city centre with its historical buildings and a lot more. Visit Rio's downtown area.
Stop for lunch in a local restaurant.
After lunch, continue the tour. We will take you to red beach (Praia Vermelha) from where we take a cable car up to the Urca mountain. From here an amazing view on Rio opens up before us. We take yet another cable car up the Pao de Acucar Mountain (Sugarloaf). From here we have a wonderful view of the city nestling between the mountains and the sea, and the sight of the sunny Copacabana beach is magical. After riding down the cable car, we will discover the historical part of Rio. At the end of the tour your guide will accompany you to the hotel.

Day 3 - Tijuca Forest

After breakfast depart for a half day jeep tour to Tijuca Forest, the largest urban forest in the world. A short drive will take you to the borders of Tijuca National Park. Entering the Tijuca it is possible to see the contrast between the skyscrapers and the tropical forest in the middle of a city. Enjoy a 15-minute stop at the Monkeys’ Waterfall where you have the opportunity to appreciate the religious syncretism existing in Brazil. Stop at “Vista Chinesa” to take pictures and listen to the history of the reforestation process of the Tijuca Forest and the importance of the Atlantic Jungle.
Continue the tour and stop at Cascatinha (Taunay’s waterfall) for refreshments and to see Mayrink’s Chapel. Trek for approximately one hour over an easy trail viewing the thriving flora and fauna. At this point, there is an explanation about how important it is to maintain the ecosystem of the forest. Visitors will have direct contact with the local nature. Return via the Açude da Solidão (Loneliness Dam) towards São Conrado, through Estrada das Canoas (Canoes Road) where we will be able to watch the hang-gliding flights. Admire the three aspects of Rio de Janeiro – the so called Marvelous City- the city, the mountain and the sea.

Day 4 - Iguazu Falls

Have breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to the airport for your flight to Foz do Iguacu. On arrival in Foz do Iguacu, your local guide will be waiting for you at the international airport to transfer you to your hotel Today you will visit the Brazilian site of the magnificent Iguazu Falls following the walkways which border the canyon of the Iguazu River. It is possible to observe hundreds of small waterfalls until ending up in front of the magnificent Devils Throat, the strongest and mightiest of all falls. The splashes coming from the falling water make you feel the falls grandeur and cover the sky with thousands of rainbows. At the end of the tour your guide will accompany you to the hotel.

Day 5 - Iguazu Falls

Your guide will pick you up at the hotel for a full day at Iguazu Falls. Start the day visiting the Brazilian site of the magnificent Iguaçu Falls following the walkways which border the canyon of the Iguassu River. View hundreds of small waterfalls before ending up in front of the magnificent Devils Throat, the strongest and mightiest of all falls. The splashes coming from the falling water make you feel the falls grandeur and cover the sky with thousands of rainbows. Cross the international Boarder into Argentina (you will need your passport). We will stop for lunch in a local restaurant inside the park before continuing our tour. The Argentinean side of the falls is different from the Brazilian; you will walk on paths through the falls which give you the opportunity to have a look under the falls. You can feel the strength of the falling water from up close and enjoy the 55.500 hectares natural park surrounding this spectacular beauty. Within the park, take the train to the marvellous Devil's Throat the strongest of all the waterfalls. Stand directly above the falling water and admire the strength of this natural phenomenon. At the end of the tour your guide will accompany you to the hotel.

Day 6 - Iguazu Falls

Today is at leisure, or you can enjoy one of the below optional tours for an additional charge.
 
See the Iguazu Falls from a new point of view. It all starts with a wonderful trek through the Iguazú National Park passing subtropical vegetation and flora and fauna along the way.
At the end of this wonderful journey, you will discover Puerto Macuco on a boat ride passing through Isla Martín. The boat will then speed you directly into the falls for an adrenalin pumping experience. 
An optional helicopter flight over the falls can also be arranged for an additional charge.

Day 7 - Depart Brazil

Your tour ends with a transfer to the airport in Iguazu.
